George C. Knott, age 89, of Winsted died Sunday, November 25, 2007 at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.
He was born on November 7, 1918 in New Germany the son of John & Mary Sterner Knott.
George graduated from Holy Trinity High School.
He honorably served his Country in The United States Army serving during World War II.
On July 22, 1947, George C. Knott & Eileen D. Scheid were joined in holy marriage at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. God blessed their marriage with three children: Kathleen, James & Mary.
George was formerly employed for many years at Sterner Industries as a Purchasing Agent.
He was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. He also belonged to The American Legion Post # 407.
Survived by his loving children: Kathleen (Jamie) Gutzmann of Winsted, James G. (Sandra) Knott of Litchfield & Mary (Kevin) Quast of Winsted; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by his wife: Eileen D. Knott on May 5, 2004, a great grandson: Mitchell, his parents: John & Mary Knott and by seven brothers & sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial for George Knott was held on Wednesday, November 28th at 10:30 A.M. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. Father William A. Sprigler was the Celebrant. Interment with military rites followed at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Winsted.
Friends called on Tuesday, November 27th from 4-8 P.M. at The Chilson Funeral Home. A Prayer Service was held at ?? and an American Legion ritual was recited at 7:00 P.M.
Casket Bearers were Nathan Michaels, Eric Michaels, Matt Knott, Isaac Knott, Tim Kosek and Rich ??
