Geoffrey Parker Brown, age 63, of Deephaven died peacefully on December 18th at St. Mary’s Care Center of Winsted, MN due to complications of behavioral variant Frontotemporal degeneration (www.theAFTD.org).
Preceded by his wife and love of his life Margaret Falk; also preceded by family poodle, Clifford.
He is missed by daughters Julia Brown (Auckland, NZ) and Laurel Brown (Mpls, MN); by brother Pete Brown, wife Sharon, Valerie and Matt (Maryland); and by other family and friends.
Geoff grew up in Maryland and graduated from Yale University. He was an award-winning international advertising copywriter and an interactive-technology entrepreneur. He was very creative and a little bit wacky. He loved coffee and was a regular at many coffee shops. He enjoyed boating, swimming, and camping. He was passionate about social justice and respect for the natural world, was generous, idealistic, and had a kind, peaceful spirit. The family attended the Unitarian Universalist Church of Minnetonka (UUCM), where he was a RE teacher for many years. We thank friends, family and the wonderful staff at St Mary’s in Winsted, who supported Dad these last difficult years. Also a very special thanks to Karen Dawes for her work on Geoff’s behalf.
A memorial service will be held 1PM, Saturday, Jan 17, 2015 at Unitarian Universalist Church of Minnetonka, 605 Rice Street, Wayzata, MN 55391.
In lieu of flowers, donations to UUCM are preferred.
