December 5, 1948 – January 27, 2024

Gayle Elaine Kegler passed away just after midnight on January 27th, 2024 at St. Anthony Park Home in St. Paul, Minnesota. She was 75 years old.

Gayle was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to father, Allen, and mother, Evelyn, on December 5th, 1948. She graduated from Bayview High School in 1967. She moved to Minnesota after making several other stops around the country. She enjoyed her work in food service at Bloomington Public Schools while she raised her children. Later she would spend several years employed at Watson Wyatt as a receptionist.

She married her husband, Harlan, on August 1st, 1991 at Bloomington Lutheran Church in Bloomington, Minnesota. They made their home in Chaska, Minnesota until moving to a farm in Winsted later on.

After her husband’s passing in September of 2016, Gayle lived out her golden years at New Perspectives Senior Living in Prior Lake, Minnesota and St. Anthony Park Home in St. Paul under the care of wonderful staff members, whom she adored.

Gayle loved her cats Boots, Spaz and Spazee. They always brought her tremendous joy and many laughs. She was very social with other residents in her nursing home facilities and was quick to make friends at Bingo or other social hours/community dinners. She also enjoyed watching old television shows like ‘Little House on the Prairie’ and ‘Walker, Texas Ranger’.

She is survived by her son Brian (Jessica), daughter Kimberly (Josh), and step-son Travis (Brittany); grandchildren Devin, Brody, Finnegan, Amelia, and Falynn along with other family/friends.

She was preceded in death by father Allen, mother Evelyn, sister Janice, brother James and husband Harlan.

A small memorial service will be scheduled at a future date this spring at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Winsted.

The family would like to thank the staff at both New Perspectives Senior Living in Prior Lake, Minnesota and at St. Anthony Park Home for their wonderful care and kindness in attending to Gayle’s needs.
