Florentine Anna Lachermeier, age 93, of Winsted passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at St. Mary’s Care Center.
She was born on February 28, 1924 in McLeod County the daughter of Benjamin & Evangeline (Shovelain) Artmann.
On September 15, 1941, Florentine A. Artmann and Alois C. Lachermeier were joined in holy marriage at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. God blessed their marriage with six children.
She was a lifelong, faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted, was a church money counter and belonged to the CCW. Florentine was also a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters.
She enjoyed embroidery, quilting, coffee at The Pantry, praying the Rosary and loved her family and friends!
Survived by children: Conrad (Vicky) Lachermeier of Clear Lake, Minnesota, Glenn (Barb) Lachermeier of Lester Prairie, Randy (Nancy) Lachermeier of Trevor, Wisconsin and Brenda (Steve) Solum of Carlos, Minnesota; daughter-in-law Nellie (Pete) Poetz; 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 2 great- great grandsons; siblings: Geraldine Axvig of Big Lake, Jeannine Erickson of Itasca, IL, Darrell Artmann of Holts Summit, Missouri and Harlan Artmann of Zimmerman; many other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by her husband Alois C. Lachermeier in 1996, sons Gary Lachermeier in 1983 and Rick Lachermeier in 1999, grandson Jason Lachermeier, her parents, siblings Germaine Artmann, Lorraine Artmann, Linus Artmann, Duayne Artmann, Mary Ann Ryden and Anna Mae Hertzog.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Florentine Lachermeier will be held Friday, May 26, 2017 at 11 AM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Father Paul Schumacher will be the celebrant. Visitation will be held two hours prior to Mass at the church. Interment at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Honorary urn bearers will be Florentine’s grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Urn bearer will be Conrad Lachermeier.
Chilson Funeral Home, Winsted, MN assisted the family with arrangements.
Florentine was an evangelizer of her faith from early on. She led the rosary beautifully before Masses, for so many years…and in a loud, clear voice. She was volunteering for whatever was needed and kept her wonderful, cheerful spirit. I know she will have a special place in Heaven. God grant her soul eternal rest.
