Ervin Morris Cook Sr., “Wambdi, Waokia Hoksina” age 64 of Long Hollow, started his journey to the spirit world on Thursday, June 19th, 2008. Born September 27, 1943 in Long Hollow to Herbert Cook Sr. and Estelle Owen. Ervin lived his life in Long Hollow & touched many lives in a positive way as well as contributing his support & leadership through out his Community and Indian Country. Ervin was a loving & compassionate husband to his wife Nina Cook for 35 years. While living his life as a husband & father Ervin was active in his traditional way of life as a Sundancer, worked at a Treatment Center & was a highly skilled welder, enjoyed farm work & participated with Alcohol Programs. Ervin loved his grandchildren and cared for them with Love! He enjoyed listening to his boys sing & gave support to those who participated in the Spiritual Way of Life. Ervin is survived by wife Nina Cook; children: Desiree Cook, Shayne Cook, Shawn Cook, Shannon Cook, Ronald Cook, Wambdi Howaste Cook, Toni Lafromboise, Ervin Cook Jr., Kami Kiefer, Wade Grey Buffalo & Summer Cook; numerous grandkids; brothers & sisters: Auburey, Robert, Betty Ann, Gale and Shirley & Lavina. Preceded in death by mother: Estelle Owen, father: Herbert Cook Sr., paternal & maternal grandparents, daughters Kimberly & Heidi, sisters: Pauline, Carol & Audrey and by a brother: Herbert Cook Jr. Funeral Services for Ervin Cook Sr. will be held on Monday, June 23rd TODAY at 12 Noon at the Cook Residence in Long Hollow. Interment Cook Family Cemetery.
