Ellsworth Francis Ten Bear, age 63, of Minneapolis Journeyed to the Spirit World on Thursday, November 28, 2019 at Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina.
He was born on July 28, 1956 in Crow Agency, Montana the son of Ellsworth Ten Bear and Darlene (Beaulieu) Ten Bear.
Ellsworth attended Flandreau Indian School. He was a member of the student government and a school rock band affectionately known as the Peanut Band. He also played football and wore jersey #81. He graduated with the class of 1975.
Ellsworth was employed in the bakery at Mystic Lake Casino.
Survived by his loving wife: Pamela Ten Bear; sons: Charles Ten Bear and Brian Ten Bear; Ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren; daughters: Angie Cummins and Darlene Ten Bear; brothers: Gary Ten Bear, Bently Ten Bear, Shawn Backbone and Orville St. Clair; sisters: Carole Arreguin, Jackie Blacksmith, and Trivian Ten Bear; other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents: Ellsworth and Darlene (Beaulieu) Ten Bear; son: Ellsworth “ET” Ten Bear, Baby Brian Ten Bear; sister-in-law: Pat Ten Bear; uncle: Alonzo Ten Bear; nephews: Nakia Ten Bear, Gary Dean Ten Bear; Brothers in spirit: Joseph “Toyboy” Stewart, Bradley “Windy” Downwind
An all night wake will be held on Tuesday, December 3rd beginning at 4:00 P.M. until Wednesday, December 4th at 8:00 A.M. at Gichitwaa Kateri Catholic Church at 3045 Park Ave in Minneapolis. With a service on Tuesday, December 3rd at 7:00 P.M. Gary Ten Bear will officiate.
Wake and graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 5th at the Crow Agency Baptist Church in Crow Agency, Montana. The time will be determined by the ability to travel from Minnesota. Gary Ten Bear and another family member will officiate.
Interment Crow Agency Cemetery in Crow Agency, Montana.
Honorary Casket Bearers will be Lorenzo Ten Bear, Dr. John Lake and Dr. JaFar Golzarian
Minnesota Casket Bearers will be Glennie Blacksmith, David Collins, Marshall Rosenthal, Lance Ten Bear, Diego Paquette, Duran Ten Bear and Lyle Thunderhawk.
Montana Casket Bearers will be his male relatives to be announced.
