September 8, 1924 – June 25, 2021

 

Ellen Barbara (Babatz) Scheuble, age 96, of Montrose passed away peacefully with her loving family at her side at her residence on Friday, June 25, 2021.  She was born on September 8, 1924 in Franklin Township near Watertown, Minnesota the daughter of John & Mary (Ceryes) Babatz.  Ellen graduated from Buffalo High School in 1943.  On June 6, 1944, Ellen Babatz and Marvin Scheuble were joined in holy marriage at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly.   God blessed their marriage with eleven children.  She was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly and also belonged to C.C.W.   Ellen belonged to The V.F.W.  Auxiliary Post #1901.   Survived by children: Rick (Shirley) Scheuble of Outing, Judy DeMars of Buffalo, Peggy (Dewey) Cardinal of Montrose, Darlene (Ron) Otto of Winsted, Renee (Dave) Hausladen of Montrose, Jan (Mike) Rasset of Montrose, Gary ( Susan Brannan) Scheuble of Montrose, Debbie (Steve) Loebertmann  of Buffalo, RoseMary (Jim) Woitalla of Annandale and Lori (Tom) Stifter of Mayer; 29 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law: Norma Babatz; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Preceded in death by her loving husband of seventy-five years Marvin H. Scheuble on September 28, 2019, a son Melvin J. Scheuble killed in action in Vietnam on July 2, 1968, a grandson Lucas Rasset, a son-in-law Vince DeMars, her parents John and Mary Babatz; siblings: Margaret (Tom) Salonek, William “Bill” (Mary) Babatz Sr., Mary (Charlie) Motzko, Agnes (Joe Pollock) (Del Pfeifer), Florence (Ervin) Cardinal, John “Jack” Babatz; her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Alfred & Elizabeth (Vossen) Scheuble; a sister-in-law: Dorothy Scheuble.

    This is to the entire family of Ellen – I am sorry to hear of your loss, she was a wonderful person. I will remember her as always welcoming me into her home, when I was visiting her children. Each one of you adults (her children) were special in your own way and I feel this is a lot to do with the way she raised you. May she rest in peace. God Bless you all
