Elizabeth L. “Bette” Reinert, age 84, formerly of Waverly passed away on Sunday, March 19th, 2017 at Elim Home of Watertown.

She was born on July 27, 1932 in Winsted the daughter of Joseph & Mary (Haekenkamp) Stifter.
Bette graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Waverly in 1950.

On April 10th, 1951, Elizabeth L. “Bette” Stifter and John V. “Jack” Reinert were joined in holy matrimony. God blessed their marriage with six children.

Bette loved her grandchildren! She also enjoyed gardening, visiting the sick and elderly, swimming and walking.

She was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly. Bette was a Eucharistic minister, was involved with bible study groups and also taught religious education classes.

Survived by six children: Ken (Wanda) Reinert, Michael (Patricia) Reinert, Joan (John) Sandquist, George (Patty) Reinert, Greg “Bean” (Linda) Reinert and Susan (Christian) Krug; 20 grandchildren: Nathan & Phillip Schmidt; Nicole Martin, Megan Hughes, Blake Schaaf, Katie & Thom Reinert; Drew & Ryan Sandquist; Sara Varner, Chris Reinert, Jill Zimmerman, Elizabeth Reinert and Abby Borer; Eric, Holly, Joe and Lily Reinert; and Nicole & Tyler Krug; 18 great grandchildren: Ben & Samantha Schmidt; Emma & Sydney Martin; Lydia & Charlie Hughes; Sterling Peterson, Audrey Schaaf; Layla, Lucille & Pearl Sandquist; John & Elizabeth “Rose” Varner; Ruby, Hadley & Brooks Reinert; Lauren & Maxwell Zimmerman; siblings: Sally Pususta, Cletus and Arnold Stifter; other relatives and many friends.

Preceded in death by husband John V. “Jack” Reinert, a daughter-in-law Deb Reinert, her parents Joseph & Mary Stifter and by sisters Mildred, Loretta, Lonnie & Jean.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Elizabeth L. “Bette” Reinert will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, March 23rd at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly. Father Kenneth O’Hotto will be the Celebrant.

Private interment St. Mary’s Cemetery-Waverly.

A visitation will be held from 4-8 P.M. Wednesday, March 22nd IN THE CHURCH. Prayer Service 7:00 P.M. Further visitation at the church Thursday morning, March 23rd one hour prior to Mass.

Casket Bearers will be grandsons: Nathan Schmidt, Phillip Schmidt, Thom Reinert, Drew Sandquist, Ryan Sandquist, Chris Reinert, Eric Reinert and Joe Reinert.
