Dwight Carter Drapeau, age 38, of Minneapolis Journeyed to the Spirit World on Tuesday, August 20th, 2013.
He was born on May 1, 1975 in Chamberlain, South Dakota the son of Robert Drapeau and Faith Bad Moccasin.
Dwight attended school at St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Chamberlain, South Dakota.

He moved to Minneapolis in 1984 where he attended Heart of the Earth Survival School. Dwight then attended school in Pierre, South Dakota B.I.A. School. He then went to Crow Creek High School
in Stephen, South Dakota.

Dwight was baptized at The Episcopal Church in Fort Thompson, South Dakota. He was confirmed at All Saints Episcopal Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

He met Danielle Ruiz and they had a son Darrick Drapeau together.

Survived by father: Robert Drapeau of Fort Thompson, South Dakota; mother: Faith Bad Moccasin of Minneapolis; sons: Darrick Drapeau and Elliott Medicine Crow; grandchildren; Ty’Leigha Merrit, brothers: Dean Bad Moccasin
of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Bryce Drapeau of Fort Thompson, South Dakota; sister: Twila Comes Flying; girlfriend: Candice Thompson; two uncles: Bernard Bad Moccasin of Fort Thompson, South Dakota and Einar Bad Moccasin of Minneapolis, Minnesota and by an aunt: Virginia Bad Moccasin of Minneapolis, Minnesota; his little brother:
Dion White of Minneapolis, Minnesota; nieces and nephews,other relatives and friends.

Wake Friday, August 23rd beginning at 2:00 P.M.-9:30 P.M. at The Little Earth Gym, 2501 Cedar Avenue S., Minneapolis,Minnesota . Further all night wakes will be held on Saturday, August 24th and Sunday, August 25th beginning at 4:00 P.M. at The Fort Thompson Community Center in Fort Thompson, South Dakota.

Funeral services Monday, August 26th at 11:00 A.M. at The Fort Thompson Community Center.

Honorary Casket Bearers Bryce Drapeau, Loren Jones, Elliott Medicine Crow, Rick Thompson, Glendor Bad Moccasin, Einar Bad Moccasin, Bernard Bad Moccasin and Llewellyn Come Flying.

Casket Bearers will be Darrick Drapeau, Frank Drapeau, Chris Drapeau, Quincy Jones, Robert Johnson, Kim Drapeau, Dean Bad Moccasin and Robert Bad Moccasin.

The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted, Minnesota is serving the family.
