OBITUARY ON BACk
Duane Kingbird, “Waa Waa Shkeshiis” (Little Deer) age 59, of Red Lake, Minnesota Journeyed to the Spirit World on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at The Sanford Hospital in Bemidji, Minnesota. He was born on September 14, 1954 in Red Lake, Minnesota the son of Charles Kingbird and Norma Sullivan. Duane was formerly employed at The Seven Clans Casino in Thief River Falls as a Security Guard. He enjoyed being on the computer, going to casinos, watching The Red Lake Warriors Basketball and going to Pow Wows.
Duane is survived by two brothers: Myron (Rose) Kingbird Sr., and Isaac Kingbird Sr.; best friend: Arlene Auginash of Redby, Minnesota; a sister: Marlene French all of Ponemah, Minnesota; numerous nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents: Charles & Norma Kingbird, four brothers: Wallace Kingbird Sr., Emerson Kingbird, Melvin Kingbird Sr. and Norman Kingbird and by three sisters: Catherine and Gladys and Dora Kingbird.
Funeral Services for Duane Kingbird will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2014
At 10:00 A.M. at TheBoys & Girls Club in Ponemah, Minnesota. Officiating will be Steve Jackson-Spiritual Leader. Interment:
Kingbird Family Burial Ground in Ponemah, Minnesota.

All night wakes will be held on Monday, February 24th and Tuesday, February 25th beginning at 1:00 P.M. at The Boys and Girls Club in Ponemah, Minnesota.

Casket Bearers will be Llewellyn Kingbird Sr., Mitchell Kingbird, Charles Kingbird Sr. Jeff Kingbird, Roger Kingbird, Randy “Peach” Holtusen, Wallace Kingbird III and Robert Fineday.
