Donna Mae Kirchenwitz, age 57, of rural Montrose passed away suddenly on Friday, February 20, 2009 at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.

She was born on February 11, 1952 in Montevideo, Minnesota the daughter of Donald & Meta Hamer Kahnk.

Donna graduated from Delano High School in 1970.

On November 23, 1974, Donna and Kenneth Kirchenwitz were joined in holy marriage at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Watertown by The Reverend Donald Taylor.

Donna and Ken engaged in dairy and crop farming for thirty six years in Woodland Township, Wright County.

She formerly was employed as a bookkeeper at Prudential and at General Mills. She was also a former cook at St. Paul’s Lutheran School in Watertown.

Donna was a faithful member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Watertown and was a past secretary of its AAL Chapter.

She enjoyed being at her family’s cabin near Dent, fishing, and reading in the boat. Donna also was fond of sitting on her farm home’s deck and spending time with her granddaughters.

Survived by loving husband: Kenneth Kirchenwitz; children: Angela (Jeff) Templin of Glencoe, Kathy Kirchenwitz & special friend: Joel Hagemeyer of Willmar and Daniel Kirchenwitz of Montrose; three grandchildren: Breana & Gracey and Aubriauna; her mother: Meta Kahnk of Delano; brothers: Mel Kahnk and special friend Char Paulson of St. Louis Park and Dave Kahnk of Delano; sisters-in-law & brothers-in-law: Shirley Moran of Hutchinson, Rita (Tom) Radde of Mayer and Linda (David) Lenz of Montrose; other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by a son: Robert, her father: Donald Kahnk, father-in-law & mother-in-law: Art & Ethel Kirchenwitz, brothers-in-law: Loren Kirchenwitz and Jack Moran.

Funeral services for Donna Kirchenwitz will be held on Friday, February 27th at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Watertown. The Reverend Paul Krentz and The Reverend Donald Taylor will officiate. Interment Watertown Public Cemetery.

Rita Mueller will be the organist for the funeral service.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 26th from 4-8 P.M. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Watertown.

Further visitation will be held on Friday morning, February 27th one hour prior to services at the church.

Honorary Casket Bearers will be Patty Yantes, Deborah Mannion, Meagan Lenz, John Moran and Gene Janikula.

Casket Bearers will be Bryan Lenz, Jeff Yantes, Joe Janikula, Pat Moran, Sean Moran and DuWayne Domjahn.
