Donna Mae Jones “Bezhigo Ikwe” (Stand Alone Woman) age 73, of Minneapolis Journeyed to the Spirit World on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at her residence.
She was born on December 14, 1941 in Red Lake, Minnesota the daughter of Eva Lorenzen and Robert Martin.
She was a very strong, wonderful woman. She enjoyed playing bingo, whenever she could, Donna always had a dauber in her hand. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Donna also loved story telling. She will be greatly missed! She was very much appreciated in the Little Earth community where she spent over thirty years of her life there.
Survived by her very special friend Eugene Elmer Bongo, a sister: Rose Norcross; sons: Daniel Louis Bruce Jr. and Kevin Bruce Sr.; daughters: Debra Lynne Bruce, Diana Louise Bruce, Deana Louanne Bruce and Darla Lee Bruce all of Minneapolis; 29 grandchildren and 50 great grandchildren; her beloved dog Tokala; other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents, a son Dean Leroy Bruce, three grandsons Jonathan Michael Bruce, Brandon James Roy and Joshawa Derrick Bruce and by a great granddaughter: Alisha Marie Janice.
