July 5, 1929 – October 29, 2020

 Donna Jean Guggemos (Dirkswager),

Age 91, of Winsted, MN passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on October 29, 2020.

Donna was born on July 5, 1929 in Milwaukee, WI to Richard and Ellen Dirkswager. After spending her early childhood in Kerkhoven, MN, she moved to Maple Lake, MN where she graduated from Maple Lake High School in 1947. She married Arthur Guggemos at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church on June 26, 1951 in Maple Lake and settled in Winsted, where she was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and devoted her life to raising their eight children. Donna loved attending their activities and sporting events and socializing with her many dear friends. She also loved spending time with her 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. In her early 80’s she moved into The Gardens at Winsted memory care facility where she was loved for her congeniality and warm engaging laugh.

Survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Art Guggemos. Children: Gary, Nancy (Rick) Greenfield, Jon (Julie Sexton), Jill (Dave) Gunderson, Gregg (Liz Kiecker), Lori (John) Stephan, Charles, Neal (Julie). Grandchildren: Jennifer (Matt) Chumley, Jill (Dominic Reed) Greenfield, Michael (Michele) Gunderson, Christine (Chase) Marshall, Paige Guggemos (Kevin Bergquist), Scott Stephan, Trevor Stephan, Roman Heimerl, Nicholas, Alexa and Matthew Guggemos. Great-grandchildren: Aubriana and Bridget Chumley.

Donna was a loving and supportive wife, dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who unselfishly took pride in the accomplishments of her family. She will be dearly missed.

Donna’s family would like to thank the dedicated and compassionate caregivers at The Gardens at Winsted. A private service will be held on Saturday, November 7th at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. Memorials preferred to Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

    My deepest sympathy to Donna’s family. So sorry for your loss. I got to know Donna while my mom Betty was in the home. Donna was always smiling and happy. Ready to visit. I remember the good times at the parties and the laughter we shared. Families helping families. Rest in peace Donna.
