Dolores Albertine (Lange) Adickes, age 85, of Lester Prairie passed away Friday morning, May 11th, 2012 at Glencoe Long Term Care. Dolores had been a resident of Glencoe Long Term Care for the past six years.
She was born on December 16, 1926 in Hollywood Township, Carver County the daughter of Walter & Lydia Lemmerman Lange.
Dolores was baptized on January 14, 1927 in Hollywood Township, Carver County by Reverend Carl Rudolph. She was also instructed in the Lutheran Catechism and confirmed in the Christian faith on March 17, 1940 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mayer by Reverend Elmer Schwandt. Her confirmation memory verse was John 3:16
Dolores attended school in Mayer.
On November 4, 1944, Dolores A. Lange & Arthur E. Adickes were joined in holy marriage at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Watertown Township, Carver County by Reverend W.L. Stillwagen. God blessed their marriage with three children one daughter and two sons.
Dolores & Art purchased a farm near Montrose where they farmed for twenty seven years. In 1972 they purchased a farm near Lester Prairie and joined St. Peter Lutheran Church.
In 1995, Dolores moved into the City of Lester Prairie.
Dolores loved to cook, gardening and clean. For twenty years she enjoyed trips to Park Rapids. She also enjoyed helping her husband Art and her two sons farm. While a resident at Glencoe Long Term Care, Dolores participated in bingo, bell choir and other activities.
She was a faithful member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie.
Survived by loving children: Carol Jean (Gerald) Kamps of Norwood/Young America, Clyde (Gwen) Adickes of Park Rapids and Daryl Adickes of Lester Prairie; grandchildren: Lynette (Daniel) Neubarth, Dean (April) Kamps, Joleen (Allan) Dose, Aaron (April) Adickes, Jennifer (Alan) Bebo, Tricia (Lee) Ford and Jeffrey Adickes;
great grandchildren: Tanner, Trevor & Brock Neubarth, Audrey, Ben, Corey & Addylen Kamps, Lilly, Rachel & Grant Dose, Blake, & Mya Adickes, Ayla, Ella & Brea Bebo and Alayna, Lydia & Mason Ford; sisters: Vera Roy, Malvina Dalbec and Yvonne Lange; brothers: Clifford (Beverly) Lange and Donald (Renee) Lange; sister-in-law: Jeanne (Rodney) Pettit; a host of other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by her husband: Arthur E. Adickes, grandchildren: Michelle Adickes and Dale Kamps, her parents: Walter & Lydia Lange, brothers: Erhard Lange and Melvin (Arlene) Lange, brothers-in-law: Leo Roy and Gordon Dalbec.
Funeral services for Dolores Adickes will be held on Tuesday, May 15th at 11:00 A.M. at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie. Pastor David Erbel will officiate. Organist for the funeral service will be Nancy Buckentine. Congregational hymns will be “I Heard the Voice of Jesus Say”, “Amazing Grace” and “My Course is Run. Praise God, My Course is Run”.
Interment will follow at St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery.
A visitation will be held on Monday, May 14th from 4-8 P.M. at The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted. A Prayer service will be held at 7:30 P.M.
Further visitation will be held on Tuesday morning, May 15th one hour prior to services at the church.
Casket Bearers will be Joleen Dose, Aaron Adickes, Lynette Neubarth, Dean Kamps, Jeffrey Adickes, Lee Ford and Alan Bebo.
