February 7, 1934 – March 9, 2024

Diane Duraine (Hecksel) Jorgensen, age 90 of Waverly, MN. Our amazing mother and grandmother departed peacefully from this world on March 9, 2024, to soar high with the angels.

Diane was born in Hollywood Township on February 7, 1934, to Wallace and Luella (Luedke) Hecksel.

She graduated from Watertown High School in 1952 and started a career in banking.

In 1955, she married Glen Jorgensen, and continued her career for a decade before embracing motherhood in her early 30s. After raising her girls, Diane pursued her passion and became an award-winning local realtor for the next twenty years.

She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Watertown, where she loved teaching Sunday school to third graders for several years.

In retirement, Diane and Glen enjoyed adventures at their remote cabin near Canada, snowmobiling excursions, airshows, ice fishing, and winter retreats on Sanibel Island, FL. She loved cooking and baking for her family, cherishing moments surrounded by loved ones.

She is survived by her loving family: daughters and sons-in-law, Carla and David Sipprell of Orono, MN, and Becky Jorgensen and Robert Jones of Minnetrista, MN; grandsons, Carter Jones and wife Elizabete, Colton Jones, Kyle Sipprell, and Charlie Sipprell; sisters, Marilyn Dungan of Chicago, IL, and Lois Campbell of MN and AZ; brothers and sisters-in-law, Marlow and Darlene Hecksel of MN, and Harlan and Pauline Hecksel of MN, along with dear nieces and nephews.

Diane was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 66 years, Glen Jorgensen, sister Opal Schwichtenberg, and brothers-in-law Jon Schwichtenberg, Neil Dungan, and Kevin Campbell.

Funeral services for Diane Jorgensen will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Watertown, with visitation one hour prior. Pastor Jeffrey M. Engholm will officiate.  Interment at Nylunda Swedish Lutheran Cemetery.

Her cherished grandsons, Carter, Colton, Kyle, and Charlie, along with her nephew and Godson, Troy Hecksel, and nephew-in-law Jerry Schultz, will serve as pallbearers.
