Visitation Information

Derrolla Anna Fasching, age 91, of Winsted, MN, passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2010 at St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted.

She was born on June 15, 1919, in Bergen Township, McLeod County, MN, the daughter of Ewald and Ferninda Terlinden Bettcher.

Derrolla was baptized on July 13, 1920, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie, MN, by Pastor Baumhoefner. She was also instructed in the Lutheran Catechism and confirmed in the Christian faith on April 9, 1933, at St. Peter Lutheran Church by Paster Schert. Her confirmation memory verse was John 8: 31-32.

On May 6, 1942, Derrolla A. Bettcher and William Fasching were joined in holy marriage. God blessed their marriage with four children.

Derrolla was formerly employed in Winsted, first at Sterner’s, she did cleaning at Holy Trinity High School, and also worked wedding receptions at the Blue Note Ballroom.

She enjoyed dancing, raising flowers and gardening.

Derrolla was a faithful member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winsted.

Survived by her loving children: Roger (Mary K.) Fasching of Dayton, MN; Richard Fasching; JoAnn Fasching; and Debbie (Art) Schlagel, all of Winsted; ten grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren; sisters: Violet Tonn of Eau Claire, WI, Della Stender and Florence Klaustermeier, both of Lester Prairie, Carol Adams of Chaska, MN, and Betty (Gene) Miller of Cologne, MN; a brother: John (Dorothy) Bettcher of Lester Prairie; other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents Ewald and Ferninda Bettcher; her husband William Fasching in 1961; brothers: Victor and Juergen Bettcher, sisters: Eunice Wainwright and Evangeline Fasching, a great-granddaughter: Geneva Fasching and great grandson: Tanner Fasching; son-in-law: Eugene “Gene” Fasching.

Funeral services for Derrolla Fasching will be held on Wednesday, October 6th at 11:00 A.M. at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winsted.

Interment Holy Trinity Cemetery in Winsted.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 5th from 1-2 P.M. at St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted. Further visitation will also be held on Tuesday, October 5th from 4-8 P.M. at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted.

Further visitation will be held on Wednesday morning, October 6th one hour prior to services at the church.

Honorary Casket Bearers will be grandson: Troy Fasching and granddaughters: Pam Cwach, Yvette Dockendorf and Allison Schlagel.

Casket Bearers will be grandsons: Paul Fasching, Brian Fasching, Ted Fasching, Terry Fasching, Nathan Schlagel and Brandon Schlagel.
