So sorry for your loss. Darian was always such a pleasant student here at LLTC. He will be missed by many.
My heart goes out to you and your family in this sad time, he was too young to leave. Prayers sent for all.
My sincerest condolences. I met Darian at the Lights when I was the Restaurant Manager. It was such a joy to have him there. He was confident in his skills and was always polite and friendly. He will be greatly missed.

I want to express my deep condolences to the family of this very special young man. I have served as the Interim President of the Leech Lake Tribal College during the past year. I got to know Darian during our Monday Drum gatherings when he shared his singing and drumming gifts with all of us. He was so special! He touched all of us in so many ways! We are blessed that we knew him even if only for a brief time. Please find comfort in knowing that his spirit lives on.
I was Darian’s academic advisor at Leech Lake Tribal College. I watched him work really hard in his Ojibwe class. I admired his tenacity and also his humbleness. He also helped to take care of our college’s drum. He was a beautiful singer, always available to share his gifts of song. I asked him to participate in a video that we made about our Arts and Humanities Department, and he willingly accepted and represented our department in an admirable way. I was truly saddened when I heard that he had passed away. He was a gift to us.
I was just looking at Chilton website and came across Adriana obituary. Man I’m so sorry I missed his wake and funeral. Darian was one of my students at heart of the earth survival school when I first started teaching in 1991. He was one of my many favorite students at hotess and always had time for good laughs every time I would see him somewhere on the trail after I left hotess. He will always be in my heart because we hit it off so good and remained friends forever after I came back to the rez. He liked my redlake accent and would copy it down to a t which would always draw some good laughs, r.i.p my bro, until we meet again, fly high and remember we will always be one of the Hotess eagles aho!!!!!
Rest in peace my friend. Still thinking of you yrs later.
