Prayer Service and Knights of Columbus Rosary recited Sunday evening at 6:00 P.M. Further visitation Monday morning, January 6th at the church one hour prior to Mass.

Daniel “Danny” John Mahon, age 79, of Winsted passed away on December 30th, 2019 at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.

He was born on November 15, 1940 in Watertown, Minnesota the son of Peter and Cecelia (Herron) Mahon.

Daniel graduated from Holy Trinity High School and was a proud member of the class of 1959.

Daniel and Monica C. Burns were joined in holy marriage June 26, 1971 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown. Father Ambrose Mahon performed the marriage ceremony. They were blessed with two sons, Brian and David. Together, he and his wife Monica were active in the pro-life movement.

He was formerly employed at the local cannery in Winsted as young man and then later at Dura Supreme in Howard Lake and lastly at Building Materials, Inc. in Delano before retiring.

Daniel was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus Council #8253.

Survived by his loving wife of forty-eight years: Monica C. Mahon; sons: Brian (Karen) Mahon of Apple Valley and David Mahon of Winsted; eleven grandchildren: Luke, Maura, Emily, Colin, Timothy, Kevin, Erin, Bridget and Kate; Kaylee and Alijah; two great grandchildren: Noah & Sophia; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, a brother & sister-in-law: Eugene (Geraldine) Mahon.
Dan was a loving husband, father and grand-father. He loved a good joke and to keep tabs on the local country music seen. On any given summer weekend he could be found cultivating his sweet corn garden.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Daniel Mahon will be held on Monday, January 6th, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. Father Michael Doyle will be the Celebrant. The Jacob’s family of Silver Lake will provide special music as a courtesy to the family. Interment Holy Trinity Cemetery.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 5th from 4-8 P.M. at The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted. A Prayer Service and a Knights of Columbus Rosary will be recited at 6:00 P.M. Further visitation will be held on Monday morning, January 6th at the church one hour prior to Mass.

Casket Bearers will be Luke Mahon, Mike Mahon, David Newman, Tom Burns, Matt Burns, Kevin McRaith.
