Dana Thomas Canty, age 65, of Minneapolis, MN journeyed to the Spirit World on June 21, 2017 at his residence.

He was born on November 21, 1951 in Grand Rapids, MN the son of Oliver and Joan (Matthews) Canty.

Dana was raised in Bena, MN and was an iron worker for many years. He was a good storyteller who enjoyed spending time with his wife and grandkids and enjoyed visits with his siblings. He was a faithful husband, loving father and devoted grandfather. Dana was also a loyal brother, dutiful son and the best of friends.

He was preceded in death by a niece, a grandson and by many close relatives and friends.

Dana is survived by his wife: Laura; children: Anthony, Thomas, Michael, Mary, Norma, Tessa, Dana J. and Kristopher; several grandchildren; his parents: Oliver and Joan Canty; siblings: Rick, Brenda, Luanne (Norman) Berge, Robin, Dean, Carla (Jim) Broste and Paula; many other relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Dana Canty will be held Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 12:00 Noon at Church of All Saints, 435 – 4th Street NE, Minneapolis. Father Vaughn Treco will be the celebrant.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 23, 2017 from 4-8 PM at Church of Blessed Kateri. Further visitation will be held one hour prior to Mass at Church of All Saints.

Casket Bearers are Anthony Magnuson, Thomas Jones, Michael Jones, Dana J. Canty, Kristopher Canty and Darrien Canty.

Interment at Bena Lakeview Cemetery, Bena, Minnesota.
