Damian Shawn Wakefield, “Owe Waste” (Good Pathway), age 39, of Minneapolis Journeyed into the Spirit World on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.

He was born on July 2, 1972 in Minneapolis the son to Lavern “Cubbie” Smith and Denise Wakefield.

Damian enjoyed music. He also enjoyed listening to music. He will be remembered for the style of his jokes and sharing laughter.

Survived by son: Blaze Wakefield of Cass Lake; step- father: Jerry Dearly Sr. (Lorri)of St. Paul; grandmother: Delores Wakefield of Minneapolis; four brothers: Darian Wakefield of Minneapolis, Buffalo Bear Campbell of Black River Falls, Wisconsin, Jeremy Dearly (Maurissa) of Tucson, Arizona and Daniel Zgodava of Minneapolis; four sisters: Amy Means, Wicahpi Dearly (Fabian), Renae Charwood and Rachelle Lussier (David) all of Minneapolis; numerous uncles, aunts and all his relation.

Preceded in death by his father, mother and brother J.D. Dearly, Jr.

An all night wake will be held on Tuesday, March 13th beginning at 4:00 P.M. at the church.

Funeral Services for Damian Wakefield will be held on Wednesday, March 14th at 10:00 A.M. at The Church of Blessed Gichitwaa Kateri , 3045 Park Avenue S. , in Minneapolis . Spiritual Leader will be Jerry Dearly Sr.

Casket Bearers will be Daniel Zgodava, Blaze Wakefield , Vinson Charette, Carlos Hollow, Stash Hanks, Greg Madigan, Gordon “Turk” Lussier and Herb Sam Jr.

Honorary Casket Bearers will be his four brothers, four sisters, aunts, uncles, other family and friends: Gaylord Anoka, Arlund Wakefield, Lavonne Anoka, Charlene Day and family, Kevin Anoka, Jessie St. Claire, Jeff Archie, Lori Rock, Means family, Dearly family, Smith family, Lussier family, Hanks family and Campbell family.

Interment Gethsemane Cemetery in New Hope .

The Drum Group will be “Midnite Express”.

The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted , Minnesota is serving the family.
