August 31, 1984 – August 2, 2020

Crystal Rae Stand, age 36 of Bemidji journeyed to the Spirit
World on Sunday, August 2, 2020 at her residence. She was born
on August 31, 1984 in Minneapolis the daughter of Duane Stand
and Ruth Wind. She loved being with her children and telling
stories about them. Crystal enjoyed visiting with family and
friends, fixing hair, going to Pow Wows, doing Native arts and
crafts, listening to music, being on social media and stargazing
with her mom. She liked to joke and tease her family. Crystal
enjoyed doing her own make-up, it was important to her. She
worked in the bingo hall at the Cass Lake Casino and in the malt
shop in Thief River, MN. She was invited to go to Arizona with
a classmate for a Native American Retreat as a representative of
her class from her high school. Crystal had a big heart – she was
very loving and sensitive. Her siblings meant the world to her.
Survived by mother: Ruth Wind; sons: Wayne Cronin,
Jordan Coan, Duane Stand, Dustin Smith and Kelly Matrious;
daughters: Vivian Coan, Alyssa Cronin and Destiny Smith;
sisters: Danielle Stand, Leigh Ann Armstrong, Shayla John Wind,
Tyannah Wind-Whitefeather and Toni Smith; other relatives and
friends.
Preceded in death by her father: Duane Stand; sister: Rachel
Armstrong; brother: Bruce “Swift” Armstrong; grandfathers:
Arnold Stand and John Wind; great grandmothers: Josephine
Rogers and Hattie Smith; many aunts and uncles.
