Charles Galvan, age 82, of Flandreau, South Dakota passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at The Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
He was born on September 4, 1930 in Lexington, Nebraska the son of Carlos Galvan and Fedencia Avila.
Charles honorably served his Country in The United States Air Force serving in the Korean War.
He was joined in marriage to Evelyn Verna Grass. Evelyn preceded him in death on October, 2012.
Charles was formerly employed in maintenance for Lyman & Richy Concrete.
He was a Boxer Box for The Air Force. He liked Chevrolet vehicles, was a good mechanic and welder, Golden Glove Boxer and he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survived by sons: Charles Galvan, Kevin Galvan; a grandchild; a brother: Raymond Galvan ; a sister: McKayla “Micky” Galvan; other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by Evelyn V. Galvan (Wife), sisters; Mary Josie Galvan, Margret Galvan, Francis Galvan.
Funeral services for Charles Galvan will be held on Saturday, February 16th, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at The First Presbyterian Church in Flandreau, South Dakota. Officiating will be Paula Armstron and Syd Byrde. Interment will follow at The First Presbyterian Cemetery.
A visitation will be held on Friday, February 15th from 7:00 P.M. till 10:00 P.M. at The Eastman Hall in Flandreau, South Dakota.
Honorary Casket Bearers will Kevin Galvan, Sally Vasqueze, Raymond Galvan, Jacob Algire and All friends and family.
Casket Bearers will be Justin Mesteth, Gabe Mesteth, Ed Mesteth, Mark Mesteth, Andy Davis and Charles Galvan.
