Cerrina Emily Schmaus, “Wahca Akinya Win” (Flying Flower Woman) age 48 of Granite Falls, Minnesota Journeyed to the Spirit World on Wednesday, May 3rd, 2017.

She was born on November 16, 1968 in Sisseton, South Dakota the daughter of Gerald Schmaus and Doris Yankton.

Cerrina was formerly employed as a bartender at Jake’s Pizza.

She was a traditional Woman’s Dancer. She liked going to Pow-Wows and sing. Cerrina had the most beautiful smile. Cerrina loved her family and was most proud of her boys.

Survived by her father Gerald Schmaus; mother: Doris Yankton; her sons: Jacob Schmaus, Jerad Rutsch, Jonas Rutsch, Charles Mudgett, Jonny Dornseif-Schmaus and Lincoln Bennett; one grandchild; brothers: Mandel J. Yankton, Erwin O. Rendon, Ben M. Schmaus and Kip N. Yankton King; sisters: Celia J. Rendon and LaNelle L. Enney; other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by her sister LaSonia Schmaus; brother-in-law Larry Enney; other relatives and friends.

A wake will be held on Sunday, May 7th, 2017 from 7-10 P.M. at the All Purpose Center, 5716 Travers Lane, Granite Falls, MN. An all-night wake will be held on Monday, May 8th beginning at 7 PM at the Community Center in Old Agency, SD.

Funeral Services for Cerrina Schmaus will be held on Tuesday, May 9th at 10:30 AM at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church, Sisseton, SD.
Interment will follow at the Sisseton Cemetery.

Honorary Casket Bearers will be all her family, relatives and friends.

Casket Bearers will be Jacob Schmaus, Jonas Rutsch, Charles Mudgett, Erwin Rendon, Ben Schmaus and Mandel Yankton.

The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted, Minnesota is serving the family.
