Catherine Ann Millerbernd, age 53, of Lester Prairie passed away on Monday, June 5, 2017 following a six year courageous battle with cancer.
Catholic Education was very important to her. She served thirty-one years as a teacher and principal.
Survived by her parents: Charles & Barbara Millerbernd of Winsted; special friend: Cheryl Heimerl of Lester Prairie; siblings: Alan (Marette) Millerbernd of Lester Prarie, Tom (Candace) Millerbernd of Chaska, Jane (David) Schreiber of Big Lake and Craig (Molly) Millerbernd of Lester Prairie; nine nieces & nephews; one great nephew; many other relatives and friends.
Words seem inadequate to express our feelings on hearing of the death of our Dean of Faculty and Curriculum Cathy Millerbernd. Cathy simply loved our school and loved our students.
To the Millerbernd family, we are here to support you in this time of grief. May God comfort and surround you with peace as you walk through this time of sorrow. Our prayers are with you.
The Students and Staff of Holy Trinity Catholic School.
My sympathies to Cathy’s family as they go through this difficult time. Cathy was my teacher about 26 years ago at the catholic school in Silver Lake. She also taught me how to play guitar! She was a great person! She will be missed.
To the Millerbernds: I was in Rome when Fr. Stubeda sent me the sad news of Cathy’s passing. She was a friend, a colleague, a great administrator and teacher. It is in our hope that God prepares a high mansion in heaven who seek to educate, evangelize, and befriends others. She seemed so strong when I brought her communion Memorial Day weekend. She will be sadly missed.
Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. I was very sorry to learn of Cathy’s passing she fought a courageous battle.
My heart goes out to the Millerbernd family and friends of Cathy in your time of sorrow. I know Cathy has left you with many precious memories from her 53 short but full years with us. When death robs us of someone we love very much, it causes much sadness and grief. Our loving heavenly Father, “Jehovah (Psalm 83:18) is close to the brokenhearted; He saves those who are crushed in spirit.” (Psalm 34:18) Isaiah 33:24 guarantees us: “And no resident will say “I am sick,” ever again. Revelations 21: 4 says: “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore.” The family is in my prayers and I offer my heartfelt condolences.
