Francelle Alisa Runningshield, age 42, of Mineapolis, MN journeyed to the Spirit World on Wednesday, September 27, 2017.

She was born on June 20, 1975 in Mobridge, SD the daughter of Frank Runningshield Sr. and Isabel Bird Horse.

Francelle liked to cook homemade soups, chicken noodle was a favorite of hers to make. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and enjoyed riding bike. She also enjoyed sitting in the parks, going to PowWows, attending concerts and playing card games; Crazy 8 was her favorite. Francelle truly enjoyed spending time with her children.

Preceded in death by her son Paul Falling Jr. (PJ) and a brother Michael Runningshield.

She is survived by her children Railly Runningshield and Angelina; siblings Melody
Bass, Asher Bird Horse, Ryan Bird Horse, Matthew Runningshield, Frank Runningshield, Karessa Bird Horse and Valerie Mellette; significant other: Dominic Tessmer; special friend: Richard Bares; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Francelle Runningshield will be held on Monday, October 9, 2017 from 7 PM to Midnight at the All Saints Episcopal Church in Minneapolis. Rev. Two Bulls will officiate.

Further funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 from Noon – 3 PM at the Oster Funeral Home in Mobridge, SD. John Red Bear will officiate.

Interment at the Bird Horse Family Cemetery.

Honorary Casket Bearers will be Dominic Tessmer and all her family and friends.

Casket Bearers will be Gino Perez, Arden Little Eagle, Kyle Mellette, Dion DeMarris, Sebastian Rodriguez and Jeremy Bird Horse.

Jacob William MacDonald, age 15, of Howard Lake passed away on Friday, September 22nd, 2017 at Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis.
He was born on October 9, 2001 in Rochester, Minnesota. He was the son of Bonni and Marcus Halverson and Scott MacDonald.

Jacob was currently in the 10th grade at Dassel-Cokato High School. He was on the football team, wrestling team and baseball team.

Jacob was a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend. Jacob had a smile that lit up the room. His great values, strong mind, and amazing spirit lifted everyone up around him. He loved sports, hanging out with family and friends and loved having an abundance of fun. Pride and Joy reign over him, from every life he touched. We will miss him with all our heart, but will cherish every moment of our life that we got to spend with this wonderful young man!

He was actively involved in Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake and Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted.

Survived by parents: Bonni & Marcus Halverson; siblings: Brooklin Halverson and Tyson Halverson all of Howard Lake; Parent: Scott MacDonald of Mound; grandparents: Lenny & Linda Juncewski of Winsted, John and Pat Halverson of Lester Prairie, Gail MacDonald of California and Darryl & Elaine MacDonald of Washington; great grandmothers: Sophie Juncewski of Winsted and Betty Halverson of Kiester, Minnesota; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins further survive.

Preceded in death by his cousins the Shamla twins.

A Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial for Jacob MacDonald will be held Thursday, September 28th, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. Father Anthony Stubeda, Father Paul Schumacher and Father Michael Doyle will be the Concelebrants. Organist for the Mass will be Bobbi Ludewig. Vocalist James Strehlke. Gift Bearers Cousins of Jacob. Eulogy by Ryan Weinandt and Bryan Clemen. Readings by Theresa Baker and Readings and verse heartfully picked by Gracie Mallak.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 27th AT THE CHURCH from 3-8 P.M.

Further visitation will be held on Thursday morning, September 28th beginning at 9:00 A.M. until time of Mass at the church.

Honorary Casket Bearers Dassel Cokato Wrestling Team, Dassel Cokato Football Team and Dassel Cokato Baseball Team.

Casket Bearers will be Noah Halonen, Josh Deboer, Carter Jerde, Drew Oestreich, Cody Christensen, Billy Gardner, Brad Bickmann and Jackson Martin.

Thomas Harry Mulligan, age 75, of Granite Falls, MN passed away on Friday, September 22, 2017 at the St. Cloud Hospital.

He was born on April 8, 1942 in Ortonville, MN the son of Harry Mulligan and Fern Classen.

Thomas enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and spending time with friends and family. He especially enjoyed making memories with his children and grandchildren. Thomas honorably served in the US Army and was a Crane Operator for Peterson Brothers for many years.

He survived by his children Randy Mulligan, Felicia Mulligan and Vincent Mulligan; four grandchildren; siblings Larry Mulligan, Bob (Cindy) Mulligan, Jim (Lydia) Mulligan and Mary (Tom) Smithwick; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents; son Mike Mulligan; brothers Roger Mulligan and Ronnie Mulligan; sister Margaret Mulligan.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Upper Sioux Multipurpose Building, Granite Falls, MN. Minister Chuck Hamilton will officiate.

A visitation will be held Saturday beginning at 10 AM at the Upper Sioux Multipurpose Building.

Interment at Mound Cemetery, Ortonville, MN.

Honorary casket bearers are Mike Mulligan, Escin Johnson, Gavin Fasthorse, Bianica Johnson and Molly Jo Christen.

Casket bearers are Jeremy Mulligan, Nathan Reiten, Jason Ross, Sam Mulligan, JR Mulligan and Don Anderson.

Dorothy Nancy Ackerman (One Road), age 86 of Portland, OR and formerly of Big Coulee, SD made her journey on Sept 20, 2017 at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital. She was born in Greenwood, SD on April 25, 1931. Dorothy graduated from Flandreau Indian School in 1949. She attended Huron College for a time and joined the US Air Force in 1950. She was honorably discharged in 1952. She became a wife and mother.

Dorothy worked at Good Samaritan Hospital and was an active member of the Portland community. She worked tirelessly to promote the betterment and wellbeing of all. She was active in many groups, organizations, boards and committees in the Portland and surrounding area.

She is survived by children; David, Dan, Dianne, Dana, Dez, Dawn, Dori Melanie and hunka (adopted) children; Michael, Cheech, Beth and Zachary; 18 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; other relatives and friends.

Arthur B. “Art” Scherping, age 78 of Winsted, MN passed away on Saturday, September 16th, 2017 at St. Mary’s Care Center surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on January 31, 1939 in Freeport, Minnesota the son of Bernard “Ben” & Marcella (Pogatchnik) Scherping.

On August 17, 1960, Arthur B. Scherping and Agnes A. Riesner were joined in holy marriage in St. Wendel. God blessed their marriage with seven children.

In 1979, Art founded Art’s Welding in Winsted. Through his strong work ethic and business sense, Art’s Welding became a national stainless steel manufacturing company. He was proud to give tours of his shop.

He enjoyed playing golf and cards, shaking dice, making bets, and joking around with family and friends. Art was a generous provider to his family.

He was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted.

Survived by his loving wife: Aggie; Children: Gary (Kelli) Scherping of Winsted, Debbie (John) Travis of Chaska, Tom (Kristin) Scherping of Winsted, Brenda (Fritz) Westphal of Minneapolis, Dennis Scherping of Winsted and Patty (Ron) Stellmaker of Victoria; a daughter-in law, Joann Scherping,; nineteen grandchildren and one great grandchild; brothers and a sister: Everett (Beverly) Scherping of Freeport, Virgil (Elaine) Scherping of Winsted, Danny (Evelyn) Scherping of Cambridge, Tom (Anita) Scherping of Helena, Montana and Linda (James) Breth of Holdingford; many other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his son Terry Scherping on July 22nd, 2014 and by his parents Ben & Marcella Scherping.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Art Scherping will be held on Thursday, September 21st, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. Father Paul Schumacher will be the Celebrant.

Interment will follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 20th, 2017 from 4-8 P.M. with a prayer service at 7:30 P.M. at the church. Further visitation will be held one hour prior to Mass on Thursday, September 21st.
