August 27, 1964 – October 20, 2023

Gerald Duane Mickolichek, age 59, of Hutchinson passed away on Friday, October 20, 2023 at his residence.

He was born on August 27, 1964 in Glencoe the son of Thomas & Lorraine (Karels) Mickolichek.

Gerald was employed as a truck driver.

He enjoyed driving semi, farming, hunting and fishing.

Survived by his children: Jeremy (April) Mickolichek, Chelsey (Josh) Gernentz, Tyler Mickolichek, Blake Mickolichek and significant other Cori, Brooke Mickolichek and McKenzie Mickolichek and significant other Patrick; five grandchildren: Aubrey, Chase, Haeden, Zayla and Addisyn; step mother: Karen Mickolichek;  siblings: Karen Wraspir and special friend Russell Beck, Marilyn (Jeff) Smith, Jim (Carol) Mickolichek, Sue Comstock and significant other Alan, Kris (Jamie) Olson, Tammy (Mark) Kottke and Paula Hanson and significant other Rick; wife: Jetti Mickolichek; mothers of his children: Julie and Jenell; special friends: Chris and Jim Neaton and the Neaton family; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents Thomas A. & Lorraine Mickolichek and by his grandparents.

A visitation will be held on Monday, October 23, 2023 from 4-7 P.M. at The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family.

Leon Francis Ellis, age 71 of Keshena, Wisconsin Journeyed to the Spirit World at his residence on Wednesday, October 11, 2023.  He was born on January 13, 1952 the son of Frank Hodder and Marlene Ellis in White Earth, Minnesota.  Leon was married to Robin and she preceded him in death.  He was a member of the White Earth Band of Ojibwe Tribe.

He enlisted in the Marines and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War.  He was Gunner Sargent.  Leon served two tours in Vietnam.  He was in Racon, the Marine’s toughest unit.  He was wounded twice and was awarded two Purple Hearts.  Leon also received the following for his service to his country, The Rifle Marksman Badge, Combat Action Ribbon, Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, The Good Conduct Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.

Survived by his son: Sean Ellis; daughter: Heather Ellis; 6 step-children; brothers: Mike Ellis, Mark Hackley and William Hackley; sisters: Caroline Hackley, Cheryle Hackley, Darlene Baldwin and Karlene Hackley and three grandchildren.

An all-night visitation will be held Tuesday, October 24, 2023 beginning at 7:00 P.M. at the Church of Gichitwaa Kateri in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

A Funeral Service for Leon Francis Ellis will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at 10:30 A.M. at the Church of Gichitwaa Kateri in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Interment will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Maggie Jo Sundahl was born on June 19th, 1977 in Minneapolis, Minnesota the daughter of Joseph Morrison and Mari LaRoque.  Maggie began her Journey to the Spirit World on Friday, October  13, 2023 surrounded by her family.

Maggie will be joining her father: Joseph Allen Morrison; a brother: baby boy Morrison; grandmothers: Mamie Morrison and Geraldine LaRoque; grandfather: Chester Morrison and 2 grandchildren: Dakota and Amaria.

Surviving Maggie are her mother: Mari LaRoque; sisters: Rachel Sundahl (Joe), Marlys R. Morrison (Dub) and Adele Woolen; brother: Joseph Cody Morrison; sons: Damien Ramsey and Jamison Hart; daughters: Lindsey, Carissa, Dacia, Jaelyn, Jasmine, Jacey and Tessa Hart; 7 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Maggie was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  She attended Heart of the Earth School and was in a program where she was able to attend Boundary Waters and go to Montana, where she fell in love with nature.  She had a lot of friends, all who knew her were lucky to have such a great friend.  She was one of the coolest, most chilled persons and everyone looked up to her.

She was blessed with her first-born son in 1994.  She was a very proud mom.  She later met the love of her life, William Hart, they became a family of 3.  Maggie and William welcomed 8 more beautiful children into this world.  They made their home in Red Lake, Minnesota, where she worked at 7 Clans Casino for many years.  She worked hard to obtain her G.E.D. while living back home.  She eventually moved back to Minneapolis to raise her children.  She enjoyed being around her family, playing cards or just hanging out.  The family was always together.  Maggie also enjoyed playing Keno at the Casino whenever she could.

All-night visitations will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 and Thursday, October 19, 2023 beginning at 7:00 P.M. at The New Red Lake Community Center in Red Lake, Minnesota.

A funeral service for Maggie Jo. Sundahl will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at The New Red Lake Community Center in Red Lake, Minnesota.

Casket Bearers will be Edwin Elmer Lone, Joseph Morrison, Joshua Morrison, Jeremiah Jackson, Justin Morrison, Jaevion Morrison, Marcell Cain, David White Jr. and Dub Chosa.

Christian “Schmitty” Garland Heminger – White, Ta Sunke Wanagi (His Ghost Horse), age 26, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota journeyed to the Spirit World on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at his residence.  He was born in Sioux Falls, SD on March 13, 1997 the son of Royal White and Marcia Heminger.

Christian enjoyed hanging out with Skylar MacConnell at his families ranch in Veblen, SD and tending to their buffalo herd as a friend and helping hand.  He enjoyed hanging out with both sides of his family.  Christian also enjoyed gaming, swimming, horseback riding, going to movies, playing pool and hanging out with his friends and adopted family Dodie Rein.   He was considered a “grandma’s boy” to his grandmother’s Melba White and Arlene WalkingBull.

In grade school, he attended Rosholt, Veblen and Tiospa Zina Tribal schools.  He moved back with his mother and in high school he joined the football team, “Wambdi Pi” at the Tiospa Zina Tribal School in his junior and senior years.  Christian graduated in May 2016 and explored the mountain tops and explored the highest one in Denver, CO with his friends.  After graduation he immediately found employment as a security officer at the Dakota Magic Casino then worked as a slot tech for a few years and then returned to being a security officer known as “2 Zebra”.  He found a love for horseback riding recently and enjoyed doing so during his leisure time while traveling and spending time with his dad.  He was also an avid bowler, having joined a bowling league and bowling at various lanes.  He also enjoyed bonfires, pontooning with his aunt Nicole, and spending time with his mother and nephew Jacob Owen enjoying movies and homemade meals.

Christian is survived by his father: Royal White; mother: Marcia Heminger; sister Maria Heminger; brothers Royce White and Dante White; grandmothers Arlene WalkingBull, Michelle WalkingBull, Lucy Torres. Agnes Lewis and Rebecca Lewis; uncles Todd Brown, Anthony Rodriguez, Ricky Wood and Quincy Nevils; aunts Anita White, Moshell Genia, Melissa Kay Rodriquez, Pamela Keoke, Chrissy Heminger, Nicole Heminger, Delite Heminger, Vanessa Heminger, Jessica Heminger and Verance Heminger; numerous cousins, too many to mention but he loved them all.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents Wilfred Moses Brown, Madeline Melba White, Christian Garland Heminger; uncles James T. White and Mark Genia; brothers Marcus Sabel, Jacob James Heminger-White; and cousin Lileigh White.

An all-night visitation will be held on Sunday, October 15, 2023 beginning at 7:00 P.M. at the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate Community Center in Sisseton, South Dakota.

A Funeral service for Christian Heminger-White will be held on Monday, October 16, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. at the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate Community Center in Sisseton, South Dakota.  Graveside service will be held at Noon at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Sisseton, SD and lunch will follow at the Community Center.

Officiating will be Gerald “Junior” Heminger.  Spiritual Leaders will be Westley Redday, Joe Owen, Jacob Owen and Dante White.

Pianist will be Billy Kohl.  Drum Group will be Noisy Bear.

Honorary Casket Bearers will be All family and friends; former Tiospa Zina football team, Dakota Magic Security team and slot techs; all his gaming friends and cousins.

Casket Bearers will be Royce White, Skylar MacConnell, Lane Heminger, Curtis Fayant, Sunny Genia, Jayen Hansen, Elijah Hansen, Tino Rodriguez, Justice Leith, InyanHa Max, Nick Heminger, Seth White, Jasmine Hansen, Jake Bellonger, Christian Robertson, Justin Redday and Jayden Miller.

Interment will be held at the Saint Peter’s Catholic Cemetery in Sisseton, South Dakota

Verzella M. Huckfeldt, was born April 9, 1943 to Horace and Ida Max, she passed away in her home on Sunday October 1st at the age of 80.

Verzella spent over 30 years working with kids, 20 of those years were with the Sisseton Head Start Program.  After retiring she remained very active, she had many Hobbies including; beading, sewing, crocheting and making floral arrangements, she would always gift many of the things she made touching many lives with those gifts. She enjoyed Gardening and Riding four-wheeler, in her younger years she enjoyed dancing, and listening to music, in her later years she danced for her grandkids making them laugh at her dance to hot tamales She also liked to travel, it seemed she was always on the go. She was active in the church community and the Long Hollow District.

She is survived by her son; Terry McKay and his Children, Terri Pallesen (Chris), Jessee McKay, Eva McKay and Teryn McKay, along with two Grandchildren.

Missy Huff (Richard) her Children, Mitchell Lohre (Margarita), Seth Lohre (Jeanine), and Tayler Huff (Casey Rise), Kegan Huff, along with eight Grandchildren.

Paula Johnson (Paul) her Children, Mckayla Angelo (Zach), Morgan Johnson (Davis), and Abby Johnson, along with five Grandchildren.

Anna Huckfeldt; her Children, Justin Dykstra, and Mason Dykstra, along with two Grandchildren.

The Family will have a private Ceremony. A celebration of her life for friends and family will be held at the Long Hollow District Center on October 8th at 1:30 pm.

Verzella was preceded in death by her Mother; Ida King Max and her Father; Horace Max Jr., and her Sister Marcella Goodwin along with her dog Molly.

Darian Mark Keezer Jr., age 28, of Minneapolis, MN journeyed to the Spirit World on September 30, 2023.

He was born on May 9, 1995 in Minneapolis, MN the son of Denise LaMont (Blue Arm) and Darian Keezer.

Darian enjoyed playing basketball, watching sports with family and friends and making new friends.  He was always a positive, happy guy to hang around.

Survived by brother Eric White; sister Hallie Keezer; nieces Ayasha, Avyanna, and Larissa; aunties Reiko, Rhea and Glenda; uncle George; many cousins; other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his mother Denise; brother Chase and grandmother Lola.

An all-night wake will be held Tuesday, October 10, 2023 beginning at 6:00 PM at Church of Blessed Kateri.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Church of Blessed Kateri.
