Carol A. (Keefe) Wiggins, age 68, of Watertown, MN passed away peacefully on January 5, 2012 after suffering injuries from an accident.

Carol was born on October 22, 1943 in Minneapolis, MN the daughter of John Donald “J.D.” and Dolores (Sexton) Keefe.

Carol was kind to all she met and very giving to those in need. The highlight of her life was spending time with her grandchildren. Carol was known for her quick wit, humor and wisdom. She delighted in turning something ordinary into something extraordinary. She enjoyed old classic movies, flower gardening and anything Irish. She was passionate about Christmas and family traditions.

She is preceded in death by her parents John “J.D.” and Dolores Keefe, and her sisters Patricia Babatz and Beverly Keefe.

She is survived by her children Monica (Eddie) Fortwengler of Watertown, MN and Maria (Glenn) Cooper of Apple Valley, MN; grandchildren Natasha, Jackson and Avery; sisters Connie Keefe, Vicki (Doug) Fasching and Mary (Jeff) Kemna; brothers Don Keefe, Ron Keefe and Mark (Diana “D.D.”) Keefe; brother-in-law Jim Babatz, and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of Carol’s life was held on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted, MN. Internment for immediate family followed at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Winsted.

The Chilson Funeral Home of Winsted assisted the family with arrangements.

    Class of 1961. Carol has been my link to Watertown and our graduating class for the last 20+ years. My mom lived only two houses to the North until she passed in 2008. I will miss the smile and the tidbits of information that Carol always passed on to me. God bless her family.
