Bradley Martinez – Tashungmanitou Hunshē Hokshila (Lame Wolf Boy) – age 43 of Crystal, Minnesota, journeyed to the spirit world on Friday, January 27, 2023. He was born July 25, 1979, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Elva Martinez and Bradley (BJ) Senogles.

Bradley was a proud member of Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe, Leech Lake, Minnesota and Roseau River Anishinabe First Nation, Manitoba, Canada.

Family was very important to Bradley. He loved and felt truly blessed to have such a large extended family. He cherished the time spent with his many cousins, and friends that became family. Especially when they watched football, basketball or wrestling with him. Or spent some time playing online video games. And he certainly enjoyed a healthy discussion over sports stats, politics or religion.

In his youth, Bradley was a star athlete, but he excelled in cross country. He broke records and won many medals during his high school years. He graduated high school as a star athlete and an honor student. He went on to win the Silver medal at The Indigenous Games.

Bradley was also dedicated to practicing spiritual Lakota ceremonies and traditions with his grandmother, Barbara Omaha, aunts and cousin. He spent many summers traveling to Sundance and eventually became a Sundancer.

Bradley is survived by his daughter: Lia Martinez; mother: Elva Martinez (Gilbert); father: Bradley (BJ) Senogles; step-father: Sidney Nevils Sr. (Micca); grandmother: Alberta Senogles; sister: Jessica Henry; brother: Charles Senogles; nephews: Sess Carey, Devin Flatten, Sidney Nevils III, and Chase Senogles; nieces: Amira Henry and Erin Senogles. And many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He is preceded in death by brother: Sidney Nevils, Jr.; grandparents: Delphine (Roy) Frank, Gonzalo Martinez Sr., Barbara Omaha, Bradley Senogles Sr., Sharon Rice-Vaughan, Adelia Nevils, and Arlo Omaha; uncles: Gonzalo Martinez, Sr., Americo Martinez, and Tony Senogles; cousins: Manuel Archambault and Tyrone Williams; and niece: Charley Rose Senogles.

All night wake will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 beginning at 3:00 Minnesota Indian Women’s Resource Center – 2300 S 15th Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55404. A service for Bradley Martinez will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. He will be laid to rest at a later date.
