Bernadette “Bernie” Libor, age 88, of Winsted died Saturday, October 9th at Cedar Crest Estates in Silver Lake, MN.

She was born on November 6, 1932 in Winsted, MN the daughter of Frank and Theodora “Dora” (Schermann) Stifter.

She was a lifelong member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted.  She attended Holy Trinity grade school and graduated from Holy Trinity High School.

Bernie Stifter and Lawrence P. Libor were married on September 29, 1951.  They celebrated 48 years of marriage until he passed away on December 17, 1999.

She enjoyed playing cards, gardening and canning.  She was an excellent baker!  Bernie was also a member of the Winsted Legion #407 Auxiliary.

Survived by her children Lawrence “Larry” Libor Jr., Catherine “Cathy” (Greg Huse); Barbara “Barb” Reed; & James “Jim” Libor; grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; sister Veronica Stifter; brothers and sisters-in-law Vincent (Cathy) Stifter; Leonard (Betty) Stifter; Felix (Joni) Stifter; brother-in-law Mike (Mary) Dongoski; other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents Frank and Dora Stifter; parents-in-law Peter and Mary Libor; granddaughter Jennifer Kirking; siblings Frank (Alice) Stifter, Gilbert (Beverly) Stifter, Monica Stifter and Eugene Stifter; son-in-law Dave Reed; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Clem Pillatzke, Leo Pillatzki, Ed (Mabel) Libor, Marion (Bob) Murray, Genny (Leo) Annette, Elizabeth (Joe) Guenigsman, Art Libor, George (Jean) Libor, Gerald Libor, Steven (Joanie) Libor, Rose (Tom) Hudson, Delores (Stanley) Quast, Anna (Bruce) Hanson, Annette (Larry) Thielen, Peter Libor and Paul Libor.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, October 30th at 11:00 AM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.  Inurnment at Holy Trinity Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to services.

Chilson Funeral Home, Winsted, MN assisted the family with funeral arrangements.

    To the family: I had great times with Aunt Bernie & Uncle Ike. We played cards & did camping with them & my parents Leo & Clem. Every so often I would run into Bernie at a casino. She was always smiling & fun to visit with when we would see each other. My Sincere Sympathy!
