Benilda Adeline Schermann (Fasching) was born February 9, 1919 in Winsted Minnesota. She was the daughter of Norbert and Anna (Remer) Fasching. Benilda was ninety-nine years old and eleven months. She lived her last ten years in Pine River, Minnesota
Benilda was a mother, grandmother to ten, great-grandmother to twenty-six and great-great grandmother to ten. Benilda was a devoted wife to Peter Schermann for fifty-seven years and raised their children in Winsted where they farmed. Benilda was a woman who loved her faith, family, her garden and a good game of cards.
Benilda is survived by her five loving children: Sister (Rosemary) Francita Schermann of Greenfield, WI, Kenneth Schermann of Everrett, WA, Francis (Betty) Schermann of Pine River, MN, Anna (Bill) Green: Alliance, OH and Peter (Lori) Schermann of Lester Prairie, MN; other relatives and friends.
Benilda was a role model to her family with the practice of her faith and her love of life. With her last words to all of us “Have Fun”
Benilda was preceded in death by her husband Peter Schermann Sr.; her parents Norbert and Anna Fasching; a brother George Fasching; sisters Alma Bebo, Delphine Quast, Bernadine Nowak and Corina Sterner.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Father Mike Doyle will be the Celebrant. Interment at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
A visitation will be held on Friday beginning at 9 AM at the church.
Casket Bearers will be Brian Berry, Steven Schermann, Michael Green, Matthew Green, Jason Schermann and Ryan Schermann.
Chilson Funeral Home, Winsted, MN served the family.
Aunt Benilda was always a warm and loving woman. Visiting her, Uncle Peter and “little Peter” was always a special event. I have very fond memories of her when my brother Paul and I had week long stays on “the farm”.
Her love and kindness will long be remembered.
