Beatrice Elizabeth Rainey,
Xe n Ska La Was Te We “Pretty Bird Woman”, age 59, of Lower Sioux Community journeyed to the Spirit World on Friday, October 1st, 2010.
She was born on May 17, 1951 in Redwood Falls, Minnesota the daughter of Wallace & Iola (Good Thunder) Pendleton Sr.
Beatrice was formerly employed at Denny’s Quick Stop for eleven years and held many positions through the years at JackPot Junction.
She enjoyed traveling, working at her jobs, playing bingo and slot machines, listening to live bands at the casino, being around her family, especially her grandchildren and was a great cook.
Survived by husband: Myron Rainey Sr.; children: Michele Pendleton & Richard Burns, Fredrick Pendleton, Roberta Lynn Ann Pendleton, Myron & Nicki Rainey Jr., Lucy & Patrick Kamolz, Janet & Winterhawk Old Rock and Mathew Rainey all of Lower Sioux; a stepson: Desmond Rainey of Minneapolis; twenty four grandchildren; sisters and brothers: Warlene Yellow Cloud of Flandreau, South Dakota, Ann Larsen & Don Prescott, Alan Pendleton Sr., Joyce Pendleton, Brenda Pendleton and Benjamin Pendleton all of Lower Sioux; two godchildren: Hepi Robertson and Kim Pendleton Hewitt; a host of other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by a daughter: Mary Jo Rainey, her parents: Wally Sr.
& Iola, a brother: Mathew Pendleton, a sister: Gloria Pendleton and with her brother: Wallace Pendleton Jr.
Funeral services for Beatrice Rainey will be held on Monday, October 4, 2010 at 4:00 P.M. at The Lower Sioux Community Center.
Officiating will be Uncle/Aunt: Frank & Christine Saunsoci Sr. and Reverend John Robertson.
All night wakes will be held on Saturday, October 2nd and Sunday, October 3rd at The Lower Sioux Community Center.
Interment St. Cornelia Cemetery, Lower Sioux Community.
Honorary Casket Bearers: Wanda Salle, Marc Pendleton, Jody Goodthunder, Laura Lamote, Kim Bluhm, Tamica Columbus, Joan Pendleton, Dixie His Day, Don Prescott, Annie Pendleton, Wanda Blue, Cindy Rainey, Jan Clary & Kids and Patti Schoen.
Casket Bearers will be Denny Prescott, Doug Pendleton, Michael Pendleton, Sam Rainey, Brian Pendleton and Hepi Robertson, Gregg Prescott and Merritt Millsap.
