Antoine D. Medicine Crow Sr., age 65, entered the Spirit World on Sunday, December 9, 2012 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Antoine “Tweet” was born on August 6, 1947 to Gloria White Mouse (Ross) and Moses Seekingland in Old Fort Thompson.

He attended school at Gann Valley where he graduated. He met Patti Ross (Healy) they had two sons: Adrian and Justin Medicine Crow.

He later met Lucinda GrassRope and united in marriage in 1972. To this union they had four children: Conrad Sr., Rosita, Eileen and Antoine Jr.

From 1974-1975 he attended college at United Tribes for Police science.

In 1976 he moved back to Fort Thompson.

In 1983, he lost his beloved wife: Lucinda Medicine Crow (GrassRope).

In 1988 he met Marilyn Fallis, to this relationship one child was born Anthony Medicine Crow and adopted son: Elliott Medicine Crow.

From 1989-1998 he worked as a dispatcher at The Fort Thompson Police Department and where he later retired from.

He loved playing his guitar, reading books, listening to music and he especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren.

“Tweet” is survived by seven children: Conrad Medicine Crow, Antoine Medicine Crow Jr., Elliott Medicine Crow all of Fort Thompson, South Dakota, Adrian Medicine Crow of Pukwanna, South Dakota, Anthony Medicine Crow of Crow Creek, South Dakota, Rosita Medicine Crow and Eileen Harrison of Fort Thompson; his sisters: Candace Bishop, Mildred Ross and Christine Medicine Crow all of Fort Thompson, South Dakota; brothers: Gary Ross, Frank Drapeau, Ronald “Kim” Drapeau Sr. all of Fort Thompson, South Dakota, Richard Ross of Longmont, Colorado; half brother: Joey Seekingland of Fort Thompson; other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his wife: Lucinda Medicine Crow (GrassRope), his parents, a son: Justin Medicine Crow, three brothers: Al Drapeau, Harold Wayne Drapeau Sr. and Walter Medicine Crow Jr. and by a sister: Karen Ross.

Funeral services for Antoine D. Medicine Crow Sr. will be held on Saturday, December 15th, 2012 at Fort Thompson Community Hall in Fort Thompson.

Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Stephan, South Dakota.

Wake services will be held on Thursday, December 13th and Friday, December 14th beginning at 8:00 P.M. at The Fort Thompson Community Hall in Fort Thompson, South Dakota.

Honorary Casket Bearers will be Joey Seekingland, John Jones, Tim Thomas, Arnold Walking Bull, Harold Drapeau Jr., Bernard Bad Moccasin, Roy Zigler, Harry Flute, Gene Williams, Rich Colman, Rio Owens, Victor GrassRope, Merlin GrassRope, Brandon Grey Owl, Fort Thompson Ambulance and all of his friends and relatives.

Casket Bearers will be Adrian Medicine Crow Sr., Conrad Medicine Crow Sr., Antoine Medicine Crow Jr., Elliott Medicine Crow, Anthony Medicine Crow, Conrad Medicine Crow Jr., Wilmer White Mouse Jr. and Chris Harrison.
