ANNE AGNES FASCHING May 3, 1934 – August 30, 2023
Anne Agnes Fasching, age 89 of Winsted, passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 30, 2023, surrounded by family members.
Anne was born on May 3,1934 in Silver Lake Minnesota to Joseph and Frances Wawrzyniak. She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith at St. Adalbert’s Catholic Church in Silver Lake.
Anne attended Silver Lake High School and graduated in 1952.
On May 18, 1953, Anne was united in holy marriage to Joseph Fasching at St. Adalbert’s Catholic Church in Silver Lake. Their marriage would last for 63 years until the death of Joe in 2016. Anne and Joe were blessed with 15 children.
Anne had many talents. First and foremost, she was an amazing Mom to 15 children. Being a farm wife was not an easy task, but Anne was unique in that she could juggle multiple tasks and still have time for each and every one of her children. Anne was kind, gentle, and caring. She made sure that all of her children were well taken care of and provided for. As Joe tended to the farm, Anne ran the household. Incredible meals were always ready, and clothes were always cleaned and stitched when needed. Of all the things in life, family was the most important to Anne, and she cherished the role of being a Mom. Anne loved to watch her children in their activities. She enjoyed going to all events, especially sporting events that her children were involved in. Anne was a devout Catholic. She attended multiple masses each week. Anne loved and lived her Catholic faith to the end.
Anne was known for her cooking and baking skills. There was always a wide array of full meals, breakfast, lunch and supper, all hand prepared by her. Her baking skills were second to none. Every week, her children and husband had fresh loaves of bread baked for them. Cinnamon rolls were a staple on weekends. And then there were the cookies. You could stop in at any time, and it seemed that Anne had just baked a fresh hot batch of chocolate chip cookies. Best cookies ever. Anne was a master gardener. Her huge vegetable gardens were plentiful and provided food for the family. Anne loved flowers, and her brilliant flower gardens were colorful and well maintained. Purple and pink flowers could be found everywhere.
In her later years, Anne found great joy in being a grandmother to 32 grandkids. She adored her grandchildren and cherished watching them in all of their activities. Anne’s family was extended even more with the arrival of 19 (and two more on the way) great grandchildren. Anne loved to hold babies and had the uncanny ability to calm them down.
Anne is survived by her children: Jim (Barb) Fasching, Douglas (Vicki) Fasching, Karen (Charlie) Kubesh, Gary (Cindy) Fasching, Sharon (Tony) Vanderlinde, Mary (Brad) Schmidt, Joel (JoEllen) Fasching, Dean (Kate) Fasching, Laura (Paul) Volness, Teresa (Wade) Jagodzinski, Barb Fasching, Gerald (Sara) Fasching, Joleen Fasching, LuAnn (Harold) Blanchette.
