Elizabeth “Betty” H. Lukes, age 82, of Lester Prairie, MN, passed away on Thursday, July 1, 2010, at her residence. She was born on November 9, 1927, in Browerville, MN, the daughter of Theodore and Mary Kensey Jambor. On September 23, 1950, Elizabeth H. Jambor and David J. Lukes were joined in holy marriage. God blessed their marriage with six children. Betty was formerly employed at Mickey’s Diner in St. Paul, MN, Lester’s Incorporated, and at Poly Foam Incorporated. She was also an Avon Sales Rep. She was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted, MN. Survived by children: Mike (Reada) Lukes of Lester Prairie, MN; Gene (Teresa) Lukes of Watertown, MN; Kathy (Leon) Franke of Delano, MN; Joe (Marianne) Lukes of Eagle Grove, IA, Fred “Fritz” (Jo) Lukes of Lester Prairie; and Teresa (Jim) Vejrosta of Silver Lake, MN; fifteen grandchildren: Jacqueline, Christopher, Nathan, Ashle, Lynette, Alissa, Rachael, Adam, Jordan, Michelle, Aimee, Geoff, Shaun, Jenna and Jessika; eighteen great grandchildren: Faith, Haley, Aiden, Jayden, Cullen, Garrett, Hunter, Raegan, Kaden, Ava, Maddie, Kaia, Jackson, Reed, Derrick, Britney, Danielle and Sarah; two step grandchildren: Kylee and Chase; three brothers: Joe, Tony and Jack; sisters-in-law: Delores Jambor, Dorothy Jambor and Mary Koep; brothers-in-law: Walter Koep and Ray Lenk; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her husband: David J. Lukes on June 22, 2004, parents: Theodore and Mary Jambor; sisters: Florence Buchta and Mary Davis; brothers: Albert, Valentine and Stanley; parents-in-law: Joseph & Sarah Lukes; sisters-in-law: Mary Ann Jambor, Lorraine Jambor, Florence Jambor, Grace Lenk, and Rita E. Lukes; brothers-in-law: Melvin Buchta and Elmer Davis. A Mass of Christian Burial for Elizabeth “Betty” Lukes will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, July 9th, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. Interment will follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4-8 P.M. Thursday, July 8th, at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted. Further visitation will be held Friday morning, July 9th beginning at 9:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Honorary Casket Bearers will be granddaughters: Jacqueline Lukes, Ashle Lukes, Lynette Rousseau, Alissa Onell, Rachael Lukes, Michelle Georges, Aimee Wilbur, Jenna Lukes, and Jessika Lukes. Casket Bearers will be grandsons: Christopher Lukes, Nathan Lukes, Adam Lukes, Jordan Lukes, Geoff Lukes, and Shaun Lukes.
