Shannon White was born on May 9, 1980 to Debra DuMarce and Randy White. Spencer and Lillian Wanna were privileged to have her enter their home on November 1980, where she remained until she entered the spirit world on January 14, 2010. Shannon attended Veblen Public School from K thru 10th grade, her remaining years at Tiospa Zina Tribal School. Shannon’s children consist of three sons, one who preceded her to the spirit world, Raymond. Her remaining sons are Isiah, 4 years old and Brody “Benji”, 9 months. Active pallbearers were Darrell White, Charles “Jacky” White, David White, Richard White, Ron Harwood, Ray Harwood Jr., Spencer Julius, Glen Wanna Sr., Wesley MacConnell and Conrad DuMarce. Honorary Pallbearers were Michelle, Angel, Kristin, Angeline, Tosheana, Gwen, LaDean, and Anna Wanna, Juanita Reels, Rhonda, Yoland, Linda and Paige White, Carole Belle Bursheim, Buffy Naneto, Wanda Johnson, Leslie MacConnell, Melinda High Bear, April Seaboy, Angel Brant, Sami DuMarce and Shelby DuMarce. Shannon is survived by both sets of parents: Debbie and Randy, Spencer and Lillian, and her two sons; her seven sisters: Michelle Wanna, Angel Wanna, Yoland White, Linda White, Paige White, Rhonda White and Shelby DuMarce, two brothers: Conrad DuMarce and Sage DuMarce. She is also survived by her paternal grandparents: Tina White and Raymond Harwood Sr. Funeral services for Shannon White were held on Monday, January 18th at 1:00 P.M. at The Community Center in Old Agency Village, South Dakota. Officiating was Filmore Simon. Special music was provided by Butch Felix and the pianist was Billy Kohl. Drum Group was “Buffalo Lake Singers”. An all night wakes were held on Saturday, January 16 and Sunday, January 17th beginning at 7:00 P.M. at The Community Center. The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
